  Who am I?

G-files Tough question! how about I just tell you some things about me... I was born in 1981 in a South African city called Pretoria. I lived there until about the age of five, needless to say I can't remember much about that period as consciousness seems do take some time to dawn upon us. My new home was and still is in Cape Town, a really beatiful city set in a Peninsula on the tip of Africa, with a large flat-top mountain right in the middle of it. ( pic. 123 ) I was thirteen when the country's first general elections were held and was a bit young to understand what was really going on. But I do remember a feeling of social and political uneasyness. But as it turned out things weren't bad at all. I can speak two of the thirteen official South African languages, English and Afrikaans. Afrikaans is basically a derivative of Dutch with British and French influences. My mother is descendant from French and Dutch settlers whereas my father has British roots. Although I should point out that these connections go back a long way... a few hundred years, so I guess I don't think of myself as being European.

I attended primary and secondary school at the local suburban school and later graduated from the Univercity of Cape Town with a batchelors degree in Physics. My school days weren't too bad, but I was troubled for a lot of of that time by some social and emotional difficulties and generally that strange state of transition from childhood. As for univercity even though my experience was limited in a sense due to my demanding course and not staying on campus, I think it gave me a unique perspective on some of the great things that might be in store for South African's in the years to come. Currently I am planning to study programming and work for a while in London as a programmer.
